Board Certificate Behavior Analysis (BCBA), QBA

Lama is a Behavior Analyst certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), the Qualified Applied Behavior Analysis Credentialing Board (QABA), and the International Behavior Analyst Board (IBAO). Lama is a Certified Autism Specialist accredited by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).  Lama has a Master’s of Science in Behavior Analysis degree from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Chicago, USA).  Lama has dedicated more than fifteen years in promoting a greater understanding of ways to support children and their families. She began her career in Canada, working at various private and governmental centers, as an Intensive Behaviour Intervention (IBI) instructor therapist. She has experience working in classroom settings, residential settings and within the community. Through her work, Lama has participated in training parents and worked with different Early Intervention Teams to ensure that children receive the best support possible.

Lama moved to Dubai in 2015 and worked as an IBI instructor therapist at The Carbone Clinic. There, she demonstrated knowledge of behavioral principles, methods of assessment and treatment, and professional ethics. In addition, she was responsible for delivering, directing and evaluating the effects of behavioral treatments.

Lama has extensive experience in using a variety of evidence-based treatments that are effective to teach children with autism and other developmental disabilities lifelong skills.  She believes in the inclusion of children with determination in the learning community as increased inclusivity has a profound impact on the education and development of every community member. Working as a Centre Manager at the Small Steps Learning Difficulties (GEMS Metropole School- Dubai, UAE), Lama has been instrumental in helping students improve their skills and achieve participation in their mainstream classrooms by providing them with the effective strategies for learning; paired with training for their educators and shadow teachers.

As an Assistant Director, Training and Supervision Manager at Applied and Behavioral Training Institute (Dubai, UAE), Lama provided specialized training courses (in English and Arabic) to prepare people working with students with autism and other developmental disabilities to become an effective & efficient participant of these students’ behavioral intervention plans.

As an International Behavioral Consultant at APTS Outreach LLC (Virginia, USA), Lama provides consultation, and training via virtual and direct support to teach and implement empirically based ABA strategies. Lama delivers Arabic and English specialized training courses in several countries. Her experience includes developing and delivering training materials using different strategies to ensure that trainees develop, maintain, and increase their own clinical and/or process knowledge. She is a proficient trainer for classroom settings and for developing staff skills by teaching, modeling, and reinforcing the implementation of the principles and standards of Applied Behavior Analysis. She has provided training on individual-based behavioral plans for classroom teachers/staff, group home staff, caregivers, and support staff and has consulted with parents, teachers, and other clinicians to meet their needs.

Lama Ayoub has extensive knowledge on autism spectrum disorder and is familiar with a wide array of community service providers who are working with children across several countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Lama believes that professional growth is based on continuous learning, therefore, she continues to attend workshops locally and internationally. These workshops highlight the principles of ABA and offer innovative strategies for successful inclusion.

I am a member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International, the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis, and the Behavior Analysis Special Interest Group on Supervision.
